Climb Every Mountain, sing at the summit

Mary Bourne
This February Mary Bourne, Musical Director at the South London Military Wives Choir, will be facing the extraordinary challenge of trekking in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

Just a few years ago Mary underwent treatment for hip problems. She told us, “now that I am fully recovered I wanted to celebrate!”

Mary will be celebrating her recovery by hiking at altitude for up to eight hours a day to reach the final dizzying height of 4,100m over five days! During her challenge Mary will be raising money for two causes close to her heart; The Military Wives Choirs Foundation and The Musical Brain.

As an MD of a Military Wives Choir Mary is a keen supporter of the Foundation and the role the choirs play in bringing women in the military community closer through singing. After attending last years’ conference by The Musical Brain, Mary is fascinated by and keen to support their ongoing work and research on the effects music has on the brain and body.

With only a few weeks left until the big event Mary has increased her training and is in the final stages of preparing for her challenge of a life time. If you would like to support Mary you can make a donation on her Virgin Money Giving Page by clicking here.

If you would like to raise money for The Military Wives Choirs Foundation please contact us via enquiries@militarywiveschoirs.org for support and information.
