“Lossiemouth Military Wives Choir are nearing their second birthday and are going from strength to strength! We are on quite a roll with our performance schedule this year.
On Friday 21st April 2017 we, along with Kinloss Military Wives Choir, had the honour of singing a selection of WWI songs during the Battle of Arras commemoration event at Cooper Park in Elgin (pictured). This was a very poignant and emotional performance for those involved and in attendance, especially during our rendition of Abide with Me whilst crosses were laid by school children and re-enactment soldiers emerged from mist next to the memorial.
In a similar style performance we are due to perform again alongside the ladies from Kinloss at the Gordon Castle Highland games and Mini Tattoo on Saturday 20th May 2017. This will be a new experience for us but after performing at last year’s Highland Military Tattoo it’s something we are feeling very excited about.
Over the next few months, you can see us at a number of local events including the RAF Lossiemouth Friends and Families Day in August, as well as Seafest and Maggies Fayre, a local charity event, in July to name but a few.
As always new members are always welcome to come along and join us!”
Lossiemouth Military Wives Choir rehearse every Tuesday between 7:15pm and 9:15pm in St Aidan’s church, RAF Lossiemouth.
